Welcome to iScribed

Hi,

Welcome to iScribed. We started iScribed as a collaborative story-telling, book-writing project. The founders already published authors. One has a book on the history of toys. The other writes a bi-monthly technology column for a local business magazine.

We both have other books half written and, along with our friends, have lots of stories. We thought, wouldn't people want to tell their story in a place where the best stories could become published in a book. The result was this project called iScribed!

We're Live

At this point, we've got most of the features on iScribed worked out and done. We'll be adding more features as we move forward, but for the most part, we're there. We hit 40 members over the last week and we're hoping that people will begin to take a "risk" and post some creative work, invite their friends to view and critique it and invite others to join.

Ratings are Here

Good news to announce today...we just added Ratings to the Stories section of iScribed. With this feature, community members will be able to vote on the Stories they review and we'll be able to determine the best Stories submitted. At this point, we're just about ready to soft launch to friends and family.

Making Progress

Things are beginning to come together here on iScribed. We've figured out much of the technology platform and have been able to quickly customize much of what the user (you) experience when you come to the Community. We're very close to adding ratings to the stories that people post and, once we have that function, we'll be ready to move to a soft launch (invitation only).

Just getting started

Still just trying to figure out whether this platform is flexible enough to incorporate all the features that Tim and I have been talking through. So far,we've had pretty good luck with it but are struggling with adding ratings to Stories. I connected with a developer in New Zealand who says that he may be able to lend a hand. Check back here to see whether we get it done. We're almost ready to launch in beta to our friends and family.

At 5:39pm on April 26, 2008, Loni Grant said…: I call it bag in a box. What I`m doing is reflecting different colored lights off different materials. As in the one here. The orchid is actually white and tthe hummingbird is glass. I change the colors of each with the colored lights. Also I change the back grounds. Some things absorb the colors and some things reflect the colors. It`s really hard to describe.
It`s a type of digital art I suppose.
