When I was in the 9th grade I was in FFA. We needed a project for the state fair. My best friend`s father owned bottom land down by the river and he planted it with crops every year.Donna and I were supposed to be partners. So we decided to pick her fathers prize winning peas for our agriculture entry. One day we were in class and the teacher asked me where I had aquired my peas from and I proceded to tell him "out of Donna`s bottom."
Note: Bottom land is rich soil that runs along a river. FFA is Future Farmers of America.
Needless to say, I was embarrassed.
Nice one Lori. Could you explain what FFA is and why it was called "bottom land?" I'd never heard of either and it would help the story's payoff at the end if we knew. Thanks for sharing.
